Armed with the success of their first album, Year of the Tiger, which was released to rave reviews and generated a huge following all over Europe (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain), Hollywood Porn Stars is back with a new record: Satellites. The four-piece chose to record the new songs in just twelve days on analogical tracks, with the band playing together live in the studio in order to capture the intense energy and directness of the new tracks. Nothing was left to chance, including those who were asked work on the new album. Christine Verschorren (Ghinzu) produced the record at the Caraïbes Studio in Brussels, whereas John Goodmanson (Death Cab For Cutie, Blonde Redhead, Sleater Kinney, Wu Tang Clan and many others...) handled mixing at the Hello Kitty Studio in Seattle. More mature and well-thought-out than the previous one, this album is still stamped with the band’s signature: the twelve tracks which make up Sattelites are divided into blistering tense rock pieces (Ben’s Dead, Walking Cash Machine, There’s A God), dark and haunted songs (Young Girls, I Want You, Calling The Ghosts), accounts of failed love stories and tragic destinies (Diamond, Crimes, Perfect Storm), as well as a few highly addictive pop hits (Andy, Islands, The Fugitive), all of them making a straightforward and uncompromising record. With barely any time to breathe between the end of the Year of the Tiger tour – during which the band performed on more than two hundred stages, including major ones such as Paléo Festival (CH), Rock-O-Z’arènes (CH), Les Vieilles Charrues (F), Solidays (F), La Cigale (F), Haldern Pop (D), Reeperbhan Festival (D), Eurosonic (Nl), Pukkelpop (B), Dour (B), or Ancienne Belgique (B) – and writing the new album, the four fellows still managed to treat themselves to a musical interlude through their respective projects. Redboy composed the second album of My Little Cheap Dictaphone, Ben played many gigs with Airport City Express, Anthony and Piano Club swept across the airwaves and Eric resumed his concert promotional duties with the JauneOrange collective. Staying in touch with their audience is very important for the band, which missed the

driving energy of live performances. In February, just before starting recording, they decided to give a surprise show to test out their new material. Announced

the very same day on MySpace, it quickly sold-out. However, their real stage comeback took place last 19 May in Brighton (UK) at the Great Escape Festival. They’ll play again at Pukkelpop on 18 August, and in autumn they’ll be gearing up for a return to their favourite playing field, an extended European tour of clubs.
